Active Members: Polina Klimovitskaya (founding artistic director) has worked as a director and master teacher across Russia, Europe and the United States and holds an MFA and a Ph.D. from Yale University. She started her work as an actress and director in Moscow in the 1960s, studying acting with disciples of Stanislavsky and Vakhtangov and directing with the last assistant of the great stage-innovator Meyerhold. In the USA she performed at Yale Repertory Theater and in the Academy Award-winning short film Molly’s Pilgrim. Polina has directed at the Kennedy Center, among dozens of other places, and as an artist-in-residence at Mabou Mines, for whom she also wrote the story on which Lee Breuer based his production Red Beads. She has taught legions of students over 30 years through her unique approach and Kinetic Mind Practice at institutions, the list of which includes New York University, Brooklyn College, the Stella Adler Studio and Shakespeare Conservatory. She currently serves on the faculties of Michael Howard Studios, Hunter College and Yale University.

Jeremy Goren (managing director/performer/assistant to Ms. Klimovitskaya) began training with Ms. Klimovitskaya in 2004 and joined Terra Incognita the following year. He assisted Ms. Klimovitskaya in her workshop at the Zero Budget Festival in Wroclaw, Poland, in 2009 and has participated in the development and performance of Terra’s A Taste of Honey, Pebble-and-Cart Cycle, Parts I-III, and Moving Landscape. He has also performed in many theatre and film productions outside of Terra. In 2011, Jeremy co-led a workshop at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center for the Lincoln Center Directors Lab as a Lab Master Artist and directed the creation and performance of original theatre works with music as a head teacher at Kids Creative Summer Camp. He holds degrees in Spanish Language and Literature, Latin American Studies and Journalism from Brandeis University, which included a year of study  at Universidad de la Habana. He has published writing in English and Spanish, primarily about film, theater and immigration.

Natalia Krasnova (performer) studied at Moscow Art Theatre and graduated from Schepkin Theater School at Maly Theater, Moscow. She was a member, for four years, of Ruben Simonov’s theater and, for one year, at Pokrovka Theater, also in Moscow. Films: Brother 2, Papa, Full Ahead, Under Verona’s Sky and Provincial. Natalia was part of a children’s radio-show project in Russia. In New York, she performed in Lee Breuer’s Red Beads and served as director’s assistant for Terra Incognita’s production of A Taste of Honey by Shelagh Delaney. She performed in Pebble-and-Cart Cycle: one-line tragedies, Parts I-III (Dixon Place and Capital Fringe Festival) and Moving Landscape. Natalia has trained with Polina Klimovitskaya since 2006. :
